Hajjar Elementary School 2017 Talent Show Results

K-2 Winners

Aine Deslaurier performed a traditional Irish Step Dance and awed the judges with her poise on stage. The dance was done to a version of Coming up to Boston.

Charlotte & Ella Whitfield and Rosalie Reddin did a combination act- Ella performed a self choreographed dance number while Charlotte and Rosalie sang a Duet to Lost Boy by Ruth B.

Amber Knapp did a self choreographed gymnastics routine to “Cheerleader” and wowed the judges with her ability to transition between stunts is a graceful way.

3-5 Winners

Anushka Dare performed a traditional Indian dance and wowed the crowed with her beautiful attire and graceful dance moves.

Olivia Norton performed a choreographed lyrical and tumble piece to the song “I was there” by Beyonce

Savannah Woods, Meghan & Madison Oliveri did a gymnastics and dance combination to “Me Too” by Meagan Trainor – they remained professional and poised with music difficulty and gave the crowd an impressive Show.

All of the performers were so brave, even when faced with music/technical difficulties they remained on stage, started over, and pushed on….. Also a special thank you to the two Hajjar dads who managed to pull off a great musical program. It was inspiring to witness the bravery and confidence in every one of those Hajjar Hawks!

I would like to thank all of the people that made the Hajjar show happen – Thank you to Beth Devine, Espresso’s pizza, the HPA members, parents, dedicated volunteers, and the Town wide Show staff who guided and helped with this show. Our dedicated judges for the evening were – Carol Bertolucci, Kevin Heffernan, Jim Gately, and Ed Giroux – THANK YOU TO ALL OF YOU.

Ditson Elementary School 2017 Talent Show Results

Last evening the Ditson School proved that WE HAVE TALENT!!  All of our performers put on a fantastic show and they all deserve a big applause.  We would like to extend a special thanks to all that made this evening a great success;  Tom Laquidara our DJ, Mrs. Valerie Murphy our Emcee, the DSA and the many, many staff members, parents and volunteers who make this show possible.  We would also like to thank our judges Jan Hagman, Sharon Lominson (both from the Billerica Public Library) and Angie Orenstein.    They had the difficult task of deciding who would move on to the Town-wide Talent Show.

Kennedy Elementary School 2017 Talent Show Results

The talent show was a fun special night for Kennedy elementary kids to come out and cheer their friends on. We had comedy, singing, piano, ukulele, dancing and magic. It was a fun night for all the Kennedy families!

Dutile Elementary School 2017 Talent Show Results

Congratulations to ALL of the performers at Dutile’s Got Talent 2017!!  We had a great variety of talent showcased, from an instrumental soloist, varied dances both solo and group, singing, stand up-comedy, a magic act and a brother/sister duet of piano and singing.  Our judges had a hard job with all this AWESOME talent; they selected the following acts to move on to the town-wide show on March 25th:

Grades K-2:

–Sumedha Giridharan & Prerna Joshi (both Grade 2) showcasing 2 dance styles from North India – Garba & Dandiya (with sticks) by Dol Bhaje

–Sophia Gallant (Grade 2) singing “Mercy” by Shawn Mendes

Grades 3-5:

–Gabriel & Chloe Kisekka duet, piano (Gabriel, Grade 3) & singing (Chloe, Grade 4) to “Let It Be” by The Beatles

–Lindsey Graham (Grade 4) dancing to “Jailhouse Rock” by Elvis Presley

–Audrey Macleod (Grade 3) lyrically dancing to “Fight Song” by Rachel Platten

We want to extend a HUGE thank you to Mrs. McGarr who worked extra hard assuring each performer had their shining moment on stage!  Thank you to all the parents who both encourage their children to perform but also helped make the show run.  Thank you to Mrs. Balzotti, our wonderful PTO, our custodians, the great judges and to Kevin Heffernan for being a MC extraordinaire!  You all help make the Dutile AWESOME!

2017 Talent shows

Planning has started for the Elementary School talent shows that culminate in the Town-wide talent show. The elementary shows are taking place in late February and early March.  Contact each school for their exact date.  The town-wide show will be on Saturday March 25th in the afternoon. Each elementary school picks 6 winners, 3 from grades K-2 and 3 from grades 3-5. Those 6 winners are invited to perform at the town-wide show which takes place at the Marshall middle school. Check back here as each school has their show for the list of winners and for information about the town-wide show.

5th Annual Turkey Trot Annual Run/Walk for Billerica Education!

Registration is now open for the 5th annual Billerica Turkey Trot! It will be held at the Marshall Middle School on Floyd St. in Billerica on Sunday November 20th.

10:00- Free Tot Trot (ages 11 and under) around the Marshall Middle School track. The Tot Trot is free for everyone 11 and under, and if you would like to buy a tee shirt, you can order one for $5. All tot-trot tee shirts must be ordered by November 10.

11:00- And they’re off! 5K for runners and walkers of all ages- officially timed by RaceWire. The 5K starts and ends at the Marshall Middle School, traveling through the surrounding roads and neighborhoods.

We will also be having a turkey toss!  …. $5 tickets available at on voting day at district schools and at runner  registration pick up. There will be a 50/50 and prizes!

Congratulations to the 2016 Honor Thy Teacher Program Honorees!

Congratulations to all of the teachers and staff who were honored during this week’s Billerica Partners for Education Honor Thy Teacher program!

You can see from all of the submissions that the work you do with the children in the Billerica Public Schools means a lot to the children and their families. Thank you for all that you do!
